Mine is The Victoria in Lancaster Gate, although I have to say there are thousands of London pubs I have never visited. Maybe my true favourite is yet to be discovered.

The best for the selection of traditional British ales in London is The Market Porter by Borough Market. For a taste of 'historical' London then either Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese off Fleet Street or The Red Lion on Crown Passage, off King St in St. James'. The best pub food (and exceptional beer) is to be found at The Royal Oak on Tabard Street by Borough Tube Station.

So many pubs, so little time.

Im a big fan of The Halfmoon in Putney. Its steeped in rock n roll history and the hundreds of photos on the wall showcase the bands that have played in the pubs back room venue. Form The Rolling Stones and The Who to modern favourites such as Kasabian.
The pub also has a great range of beers and an excellent juke box.

Mine is the Village Inn - my local - in Walthamstow. Great atmosphere, food, drinks & generally a lovely place to be.

If we're talking Central London, then I love Ben Crouch's Tavern on Wells St just of Oxford St.

It's a cheesy goth theme but it plays good music and it's where I met my boyf nearly four years ago only a fortnight after moving to London.

I now work just round the corner from there, so it's my favourite after work haunt too!
