I want to get a tattoo on my upper back. I'm not extremely built, but I'm not chubby....all over. I have a little bit of a stomach that I plan to work on now that the weather is getting nicer. I do ab workouts everyday, I just need to do my cardio to burn the fat off. Would this effect the tattoo in any way? Again, I'm trying to work off my stomach, would that effect the skin on my upper back? Should I wait to get that tat, or will I be just fine?
I appreciate your time.

Tattoos will stretch with the skin they're on. But quite honestly, unless you're planning on building your muscles up massively, I wouldn't let this worry you over-much. Your upper back is in any case not an area that's going to change all that much (unless you're planning in working out to the extent that you can enter the Mr Universe contest at some point...) A bit of toning is unlikely to have all that much effect in this area.
Put it this way; all my own tattoos have been OK throughout various periods of weight gain and loss. Yes, the skin they're on has stretched at certain times, but they haven't been disastrously pulled out of shape.
If you're concerned, though, then there's no harm in waiting to get you tattoo done when you're happy with your body shape. It's going to be permanent, after all, so waiting a bit longer isn't a problem.
The only other thing I'd say is that you might want to think about the timing of when you get your tattoo done, in terms of maybe giving yourself a break from any strenuous exercise while it's healing - see other questions about various sporting mishaps to newly-inked tattoos for more, plus it could be a bit uncomfortable, so it might be best to go easy for a little while.
Hope this helps!

TECHX69 is correct, your skin stretches and if you lose weight it will relax. On your upper back there is not too much fat so any weight lose will be minimal there and should not affect the appearance of the tattoo. The best thing would be to talk to a tattoo artist and ask them if you should wait on getting the tattoo or if it is ok to get it now. Only an artist that sees your physique, knows what you want to get and can see how elastic your skin is would be able to give you the correct answer.

If you back skin is fit to your muscles and doesn't need working out on....meaning if you work out you skin won't move unless it has a little extra. If that is the case, I would just wait. I would wait a month or so after the tattoo anyways so he can heal and totally set in the skin. Good luck!

If you love what you are going to have tattooed and that is the only thing stopping you then go for it- your belly will hardley affect the upper back if at all. Just take good care of the tattoo. Have fun!!!

dude..these people are nits. Go get the tat man, plenty of people bounce around in weight and stuff and the tat isnt going to change ..unless you gain like a hundred pounds or something..lol...or drop 100 pounds....
go talk to a tattoo artist, they have a wealth of info.
