My vet told me to feed him 100g of dry food divided by 3 meals every day, so he get 3 sittings of 35g or so.
My family and friends all think this is not enough for him.
Have you experience please tell me how much he should eat?
Thanks in advance.

It should say on the back of the packet how much food your puppy requires. I would listen to your vet, or if you don't want to, then get a second opinion from another vet.

Most people overfeed their dogs and end up with overweight dogs with health problems. Dry food never looks like much, but it will be enought for your dog and make sure he has plenty of water.

As a comparison, my fully grown lab x dalmation has 600g per day. He is huge, like a small horse!! so I think 100g for a small breed like a cocker probably isn't that far off.

FEED MORE.. there is no problems with a puppy with PUPPY FAT, its good for all over general health, bones, teeth and nature, JUST DONT WELL OVER FEED as he will get grouchy when you pick him up for a cuddle, I stuck to manufactures guide lines, as a very young puppy she was always very very hungry and gobbled her food down within seconds of my putting it down, she didnt sleep well at night either, she is now underweight at 5 months old and I am having to give her fatty sausages, fatty mince, greek yogurt with honey, rice pudding as well as her normal puppy complete dry food. EVERYTHING I NEVER WANTED TO DO WHEN TAKING ON A PUP, i dont think there is enough fat in the dried food. MY VET WOULD SAY SHE WAS OK but top breeders for my breed have said she is far too small for her age.
YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT, each pup is different, but do remember that he is a puppy, not a dog and wont be for a good 12 months and by adult hood, you will be more established into an excercise routine and he will understand No when you dont want him to have more of anything. GOOD LUCK WITH HIM BUT I THINK MORE.

Well, hopefully you are feeding him puppy food and not adult dog food. The puppy food has the nutrients the pup needs to grow and be healthy. Adult dog food doesn't. And I would look on the back of the bag...It should have a diagram of how much to feed the pup. They usually go by weight and how much to give each time you feed them....I didn't do that when I fed my dog when he was a pup...I just gave him the amount that looked right for his size(he is a Chihuahua) and how much would be enough and not too much...Puppies will eat too much if you give it to them...they don't know when to stop.

It depends on the type of food. Generally, the better quality the food, the less you need to feed.

Look on the back of the packet and it will tell you how much to feed. Your puppy will need more when he is younger than when he grows up. If in doubt, phone the helpline of the food manufacturer and they will help you out.

The vet's advice would be the best to go by. Also, check the back of the bag of food, there should be printed guidelines by weight and age.

Your vet is the expert. The vet will go by the weight of the puppy and also what type of food he is on.

100g are enough for him to 1 meal, if he eat too much you will have a overweight dog, don't worry for him when it will grow you will give him much and diversified food!!!!!
