This is a Saudi law not an Islamic law. If travel the rest of the Muslim worl you'll find women driving. Women eve used to ride horses and camels in those days, I think there is Ahadith about how the best women horseriders were women of the Ansar.

Well Jees thats the only draw back, we cant just upgrade the quran now with new testment to your climate conditions. @ least that books real. Muslim woman can drive, just dont drive away. I mean the hole idea of muslim is not to enjoy life here, but to pray and make life for after life. Do you really think Muslim women really care if they drive a car on the free way at 60 or 80 miles per hour when driving is just the means of travelling. I just got an idea as a male i like that law, well ofcourse NOT IN AMERICA ;-) but ya they can drive if they have driver's license.

Quran didn't mention cars brother, It states: "No difference between humans on basis of sexism", That's all, a woman can do what a man can do except very limited things, due to the role of nature.. There's no problem in w oman driving a car.. It is really sick that some countries like KSA still discuss: "can women drive"? while former Muslims like Ibn El Haytham invented a camera, a clock "Harun Al Rasheed" Molotove Cocktail "Demascas", and had great writings in medicine, physics, and science...

I like the differance between Muslims here and Muslims in the middle east, Mulim women here can drive and walk with their husbands and go out and about without their husbands and not wear the full Abaya. If a husband has two wives he is not put in jail here either for being a poligamist like the fundamental mormans. Altho any Muslim will tell you there is prejudice against them because of terrorist, I am sure it is true, but I still think the women have it better here and those black islma women, some wear the full Abaya and some the just cover their hair and wear long cloths and some just cover their hair. I am not sure about them. A Muslim women in the middle eat (and I have been over there!) can't drive, have to walk two paces behind their husband, can't go out without being escorted by a male and can be shot if accused of cheating on their husband by their husband. I knew a female soldier who a muslim man liked, he talked to her NCO and tried to trade her for a couple goats. There was a time when they tried to make all female soldiers wear full burqua and be escorted off post by our PLT SGT, walk two psces behind my SGT, no thnaks, LOL.

umm i don't get the 1st part of ur question,do u mean why can't muslim women drive?no one ever said that muslim women can't!muslim women drive all the time and there is nth wrong with that.as 2 the 2nd part th quran was created by god and it wasn't written for a specific time, the quran is timeless,a lot of the things in the quran go for all times and ages.
