Base 13:
9 * 6 = 54
54 = (4 * 13) + 2
54 = 52 + 2
54 = 54
Base 10:
9 * 6 = 54
54 = (4 * 10) + 14
54 = 40 + 14
54 = 54
Therefore,
(4 * 10) + 14 = (4 * 13) + 2
40 + 14 = 52 + 2
54 = 54
Equation is right. However it does not prove the false premise 9 * 6 = 42.
Your method is illusive, using different additional quantitiess ( 2 and 14). The fact remain that ( 9 * 6 is not equal to 42, but 54.
If you do not like my answer, then prove it to me using constant quantities (additions) not variable ones and feel free to e-mail it to me. I'll be grateful. I believe in live and learn.

Base 13
9 * 6 = 54
54 = (4 * 13) + 2
So 54 (base 10) = 42 (base 13)

It is possible by your believing it is so...
All you need do is reject most conventional mathematical axioms... or like... all of them. Reject reality as a non-transient and it should be quite easy to make 6 x 9 equal whatever you want.
Alternatively.... you could just take Tom's method. Very nicely done there.
