There r no. of diseases causing cyst formation . If u r asking about ovaries this is called polycystic ovarian disease where instead of follicles small multiple cyst r formed ,usually common in obese girls & woman leads to irregular periods or amneorrhoea & subfertility.
Another cystic lesions which may involve both kidneys & liver is poly cystic kidney diseases which is heriditroy & may be quite for long periods & discovered on incidental ultrasonography or when renal reserve r exhausted & sign & symptoms of renal failure occars.
similar r cyst in liver. Some time solitary cyst may present in liver ,kidney or ovaries.
In ovaries after ovulation small cyst may be formed which resolve automatically with next cycle.
Solitry cyst or multiple cyst in ovaries may be due to serus cystadenoma or mucinous cystadenoma & requires biopsy to rule out malignancy.
Acquired cystic diseases of liver or brain may occaur due to parasite eaten with pork meat & leads to hydated cyst of liver or brain . This may require surgery & is quite seroius .
Then there is binign condition of breast known as fibrocystic diseaes of breast usually gives rise to mastalgia.
