The war was based on lies and Bush has made things much worse with the war -- now, Iraq is even in a worse condition as ever before...thanks to Bush! I feel sorry for the Iraqi people, and for me, Bush is the terrorist number 1.
Remember: Over 300,000 Iraqi civilians died during the bombings on Iraq, including 60,000 children - on American TV you hear NO WORD about them - you only hear about the killed troops - but Americans doesn't cares for the Iraqi civilians.

My view of the Iraq war was a mistake from the very beginning. It all came from Bush's "little white lie" that precipitated this four-year-old mess. Bush, to tell you the truth, has used poor-quality intelligence to start up a case to engage into an illegal combat by invading Iraq. Our prolonging occupation of Iraq has placed many soldiers in the crosshairs of the ever-growing violence of the al-Qaeda-affiliated insurgency. All of this can open up a heightened risk of terror attacks here at home and around the world. We've lost more than 3,000 soldiers in this unnecessary war. Not to mention well over half a million Iraqi civilians, security forces, and policemen were also killed in this mess, too. Do we need a much higher number of dead soldiers since Bush is already sending more there? I have to say yes. I fear a higher body count as a result of this. That's how I want to put this.

I was for the war, but not for the reasons cited by the administration. I believed in 91 that Hussein needed to be removed from power and I still believed it in 03. Once this action was undertaken I also believed that we could not just allow this country to degenerate into total civil war and chaos. I still believe this today. However, we cannot continue a never ending occupation in this country. At some point Iraq must take responsibility for their own future. While I believe that most people when given the chance will embrace democracy over totalitarian rule, it cannot be forced upon them. There are very old religious rivalries in Iraq that the average American cannot begin to understand properly. My current belief on the war is this. Privately we should set a timetable with the Iraqi ruling council with specific goals which must be achieved. If they do not achieve these goals when the deadline arrives we should begin to withdraw our troops whether the country is stable or not. Even if this is viewed as a loss by many. I support the troops and I do believe without question that they can complete their mission if given the tools and proper rules of engagement to work with. I just don't believe that the politicians have the will to do what is required.

We shouldn't have gone there. Weapons of mass destruction was the reason for going into Iraq, but there was still no proof that Iraq had anything to do with the attacks inside the US. Out of all the "axis of evil", North Korea is the only one with nuclear weapons (weapons of mass destruction) and Iraq and Iran have OIL. Bush, Cheney, Rice, the bin Ladens and the Saudi monarchy have ties to oil. Hell, the name for the Iraq war was Operation Iraqi Liberation (O-I-L) until someone told bush to change the Liberation to Freedom. This war was about that country's oil from the jump.

We need to stand united, one nation, under GOD, with our President, and believe in our military to make the soundest decisions they possibly can, because remember, the terrorist are in Iraq as well as everywhere else. Those people in Iraq would never had a chance, not one single chance for a freer sociaty, many more would have died if they were not helped. That monster even butchered infants. The terrorists I swear are from the same unhuman place. There would have been another hit on our country, if our military had not been ordered to go after them. You have to admit we have the best, they know it's the only way sometimes. They keep them running and hiding, or better, like dead, that their way of life, their families are safer. Iraq hopefully will Unite, stop the country people strife. They all should have had enough wickedness when Sadam had control. If they start realizing their own children can live a better life now it should be able to be under it's own control. They have learned alot in a very short time. It seems to me that they should be wanting a good life for the Iraq children are their future. When the rest of Sadams torturers are dead, it will get easier for that country.

Facts have come to light showing that the war was started on false pretenses(lies) It has been shown that the US has not benefitted at all from this military adventure. Certain peopleand companies have become richer such as Halliburton because of the war. Many dedicated brave Amercians in military have had their lives sacrificed or ruined, many of them from poorer communities who had fewer career and educational choices. Since the war started the US has more and more population considered in the group of the extreme poor. Domestic issues have been nderfunded such as health care education etc.
The grand majority of leaders who support the war do not have close relatives serving in harms way there. It makes sense to smell a rat here and to research it further You can try:

PS In your report you'd want to explore how fascinating it is that many many Americans (people like whoever answered in the name "Lou" below) Still believe that Iraq was somehow responsible for the Attack on US on 9/11/2001- a premise that no facts support and no one in the debate on either side who has studies the situation even mildly-believes. nevrtheless the administration and its allies were able to get this rumour circulatedby simply mentioning the word Iraq and 9/11 in the same sentence many times over in speeches.

We have to follow the Commander And Cheif. Though I do beleive the war has done some good, and some bad. There is just some people who do want change to come over there. I believe the war could be handled better. But I wouldn't know how. Joining 2010. Semper Paratus.

When all of the planes were landing all over the US and killing innocent citizans EVERYONE was screaming out for war! Now that it is getting a little longer than they wanted they all pretend that they never voted for it. All I can say is that if there was a Senator that would have voted against going to war right after all of those innocent Americans were killed I think that they would have been ran out of their office on a rail!! Now they all say that they wish that they would have nothing to do with it. What a bunch of dopes!!!! The Democrates are a bunch of papertigers and that is what the terrorists are counting on! They know that if they can hold out long enough these stupid people will want to quit and then they can attack us again.! I think that we should give our men and women that are fighting this war everything that they need and turn Iraq into a slab of glass!!! They did not care about our innocent people why should we care about theirs?

I'll give you the reply I just gave to another question that's on the same topic, albeit from another perspective of learning from history:
" No nation has ever quite learn the lesson of history since humans always hope they'll do better than those who have gone before them.
Right after their bitter defeat in Vietnam in 1954, the French engaged in another bloody and brutal colonial war in Algeria (1957-1962), reasoning that the proximity of that country to France and the large number of French settlers there would give them better luck than what they had in Vietnam. They ended up in defeat in Algeria too.
The British were whipped by the Americans in our War of Independence but tried again in the War of 1812, even managed to sack Washington D.C. and burned down the White House. They were evicted again at the end, having never learned the lesson of 1775-1783. "

It sucks! All my battle buddies are over there getting shoot at. We were supposed to be looking for weapons of mass destruction, never found any, but yet and still we are still over there. They say its because we need to stabilize that country first. Let the Iraqi people take ove and stabilize there own country. If they can't control oh well. You wouldn't see anyone from any other countries coming over here interfering with us if we all went crzy one day and started killing each other up, would you? Hell no! The war sucks and at this point its stupid. We have no real reason the be other there right now. Not as heavily as we are anyway. They need to leave a small force and change it out every once in a while just for intel. That why we have a heads up if they try to come over here again.
