Spirituality.

Religion is an artificial institution which was originally a method of answering questions for which there was no rational or scientific explanation. It also served as a means of bonding a groups of people together, and laying down societal rules.

Spirituality is what YOU feel. It is your connection to God, the Universe, Mother Earth, Allah, Nature,..whatever you call it. It may be that calm center you find inside. It has nothing really to do with religion, although you may find a religion gives you a place to focus it.

I am very spiritual. I'm not at all religious. They are two separate elements which may share space in your life and may not.

The beautiful thing about living in the USA is freedom of religion...however, I believe that religion is a man made way to control and scare people, not to mention that anything "made up" and added to God's word is an abomination. So to answer your question, being guided by the Holy Spirit is far more advantageous than that of legalism (religion).

Something that you do "religiously" is not how you may feel "Spiritually". You spirit is not your own. It is given to you "on loan" from God The Father" to guide you and protect you while you live on this life he gave you.
Your religiously repeated actions through out your life, are those of your own.
Somewhere some time ago the word "religion-done-religiously-with repetition" was confused with professing "faith" in The Creator and going to the gathering at a timed schedule to meet with other worshipers and be in 'ekklesia' with them....

Spirituality is the next evolution of religion

A religious person may be fanatic, arrogant or ignorant, but a spiritual person sees all unverse as his own self

Religion is like a canal where water flows in fixed routes..predecided if it will reach our tap, or fields or lake

But spirituality is free flowing mountain river....finding its own ways....dancing and singing...rushing towards the Great Ocean

Spirituality. your own personal relationship with God, or whatever your Higher Power may be. I also believe all religions are correct and all ,meant to bring people to have a relationship with God as they can understand Him. They seem different, but are suppose to have the same result

Religion sans spirituality is no religion at all. Also people practice spirituality through religious means. So they are interdependent and hence no comparison can be made. nagarajan.

Spirituality.

You dont need to be religious to be spiritual, but you definitely need to be Spiritual if you even HOPE to begin walking the paths of religions.

As a whole, Religions in this day and age have gone down the wrong tunnel, their devotees are mostly willing....
to curse, to kill, to murder, to rape,
to steal, to rip off, to lie, to coerce, to condemn
to threaten, to hide under pretenses,
to break the hearts of their parents and loved ones behind a tide of "holier than thou" attitudes ( jesus never broke Mary's or Joseph's heart and THEY are his adopted parents even ),

and more....

..while all the while "FEELING" they are holy, pure and purged of all sins... such people are unspiritual... as such how can they even realise they are not religious at all... but wearing a Skin of Religiouness while commit acts of Anti-Religiousness.

spirituality.

The fact that many may say religion, or something like "people need religion" is a grave cause for concern.

Spirituality first and foremost should be the priority of any person who claims to follow a faith like belief in Jesus. Unfortunately, ritual and motion is easier than living and doing.
