Only if you are having a fling. You can't seriously have a relationship is you don't love them. I never actually understood that Meat Loaf song anyway. How exactly can you want and need someone without loving them? Seems a mystery to me.

But anyway, it's ok to have a fling with someone, but how could you even stand staying with that person for a lifetime if you don't love them. I wouldn't work in the longterm. Unless they were exceptionally rich of course! lol (I'm joking, that's not right either).

Only if you're both aware that that's the case.
I'v just finished a "relationship" with exactly that basis, he's always been straight with me, that it's 2 / 3, but I'm no longer prepared to accept 2nd best, I want someone who loves me, not someone who just wants me around as a "convinience". We've been together on that understanding for 3 yrs now & it was fine @ 1st, but I finished it a month ago.

It'll never last. Be honest with your partner and seek a new life.

how long have you been with your partner for? love sometimes doesnt come straight away. if it feels enough for you then i dont see it being any kind of problem. but maybe your parner should be informed of were he/she stands

that's a long term relationship thing you still love them but in a different way
