Anesthesia is loss of pain sensation (local) or consciousness (general). General anesthesia will have more effects on your physics (dullness) after having it, but will be needed for big operations. For small operations, local anesthesia can be used.

Anesthesia is used to anesthetize or put some one into and unconscious state, usually for performing operations or procedures that would be intolerably painful were the person allowed to remain awake.

I am sure that the properties of physics apply to the chemical and physical properties of this group of drugs and their interaction with the body's electrochemical composition, just like everything else in existence.

A medicinal agent, usually a gas or IV drug to numb a patient, or put them to sleep during operations. Or procedures like stitches so you feel no pain. Nitrous oxide, Novocaine, litocaine are a few used.
