I went on an extremely low-calorie diet a month ago. I "survived" only a week. I've lost not one single pound. Plus, I messed up my stomach so much that I had to take painkillers.
As people before me already said, your body stores fat if starved.
What I'm trying to do now is eat 5-6 small meals a day, lots of fruit and vegetables, low-fat milk products such as yogurt and cottage cheese, fish and poultry, cereals, olive oil, etc. and I'm trying to make myself exercise and walk.
If you don't have time to exercise for a whole half an hour, or go for a walk, I suggest taking a five-minute walk a couple of times a day, or doing one set of crunches every couple of hours (or exercises for any other part of the body).
Drink lots and lots of water!

Most don't just starve themselves they eat a lot then puke. This is not only bad for your digestive system but for your esophagus and tooth enamel as well.
Some other tricks they use is to take laxatives often and diet pills or even speed or heroin.
All of these are destructive to the body. Models that do these things are idiots if they believe they are healthy.
A healthy woman should have curves not angles made by protruding bones.
Don't worry about it. Eat healthy and exercise.

Starving yourself is extremely unhealthy and can cause all sorts of health problems. Your metabolism will slow down and your body will do all it can to protect itself by storing all it can.
A healthy diet and plenty of excercise is the only healthy way to look after yourself. I'm sure you have heard this all before, at least I hope you have but please don't take the dangerous option!
If you are unsure of what to eat go to your GP and request to see a dietician to get some advice or research online - i'm sure there are plenty of online sites with great advice on nutrition and excercise.
Good luck and stay healthy!

Starving yourself in order to loose weight is counterproductive. Your body protects itself from starvation (when suddenly cut off from nutrients) by storing fat! Cutting down on your calorie intake, and exercise is the only sensible option. Why do you think so many young people suffer with eating disorders. Your body wasn't designed to cope with starvation.

Starving yourself may make you appear slimer, but that doesn't mean your body fat percentage is lower. When your body goes into starvation mode, you start losing your muscle mass and your body starts saving up fat. I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to end up with a higher body fat percentage.
Take care : )

I tried that, and my body went into starvation mode so I started to gain weight. I wouldn't suggest it. If you want to lose some weight, eat healthy and exercise. Its the only healthy way to do it.

They eat things like yolk free omlettes and toilet paper, practically NO calories! I have been in a room with a so called "supermodel" and she had hideous creppy pimply skin and smelled!
The best thing you can do to make you look like a supermodel is get yourself airbrushed! That'll work!

they don't starve themselves.
they have strict diets.
they won't eat meat or stuff.
it won't work if you aren't dedicated.
anyways, don't go by what you see on tv, pictures, magazines, or the internet. photos are easily edited.
