i have quite dry hair from over coloring, and a salon friend of mine told me to use 2 egg whites, mixed with 4 tbl sp honey and a handful of oatmeal and leave on for 20 mins.
Cant i get salmonella from egg whites? apparantley this is a tequnique favoured by celebs at spas, something to do with collagen and protien, but is it safe?

It's not an old wives tail....They tell us to eat egg whites because they are full of ?????? - Protein and protein helps the bonds in your hair...Not only is this a good treatment for your hair but the egg with strengthen your hair and make it grow and the honey is meant to thicken and cut the smell some..If your scared of salmonella get the egg whites already separated at the grocery store....Make sure you rinse good..because it is smelly....and just like the others said..there are other remedies such as mayo and egg and even beer that help grow hair..I dont know if thats your goal or not...

I did it utilising one egg white and a pair of table spoons of olive oil blended mutually, stick to to dry hair, leave for approximately an hour and then wash out yet no longer with shampoo or something...leave it for a pair of day(it is going to scent somewhat)then wash out and use a deep conditioner on it and it is going to likely be quite delicate and glossy...letting it dry natrually could desire to help too.

It's an old wives tale I think, but it could work if you try it. But don't rinse with hot water as you may end up with scrambled egg in your hair!!!
