Yes! Please do. I've been tryin' to get a message to all of the Young Folk. But I'm assumed to be some kind of Perv. Fine! Hit me with your Best shot! I've been wanting Parents, to get the message across, to them? That they shouldn't try to act like Adults? Until they actually are. I've been tryin' to get the Kids, to realize that they don't have a clue. About what life really is.
Questions to both sides:
Parents: Is this to much to ask Children to understand that they are NOT Adults? What steps would you take to get that point across to yours?
Children: Is being forced to see the consequences of what WILL happen? If you're allowed to act like Adults. Is that being treated Cruel and Inhuman?
Finally, are the Children prepared to make a Promise, to their Parents, that they NOT act like Adults. Until they actually become one? Or is that too Disney-like of a Daydream.
Hit me with your Best shot! Fire Away!

Rug ... When you say "they don't have a clue," I presume you're referring to some of the posts we see here in Answers that seem to have been written by a youngster who thinks s/he knows the answers to all the world's problems ... such as the war on terror, international relations, how to run the military, etc.

Well, I agree that there are many people speaking up loudly regarding things they know nothing about. I tend to think the reasons are:

• We, the ones in the free world, enjoy more freedoms than ever before. [Do we ever hear from the folks in Cuba or North Korea? I haven't seen any posts from those folks. Have you?] And being free encourages people to speak out, sometimes at opportunities when they shouldn't, such as when they're not qualified to comment.
• The combination of the Internet and forums such as these gives everyone and ANYone with a computer the chance to conveniently have their "voice" heard by the entire world ... no prerequisites or qualifications required. Imagine a bunch of middle-schoolers trying to participate in a class on international relations or military strategies for the 21st century. Their inability to absorb and fully appreciate the topic would result in so many questions and conflicts, progress in the class wouldn't be possible.

Well, I'm tempted to offer some specific examples of the bogus and way-out-of-line answers/comments we see here, but that wouldn't answer your question.

So ... Giving the power of a loud and far-reaching voice to people with no qualifications whatever gives them the false impression that what they're saying makes sense simply because they can find a few other unqualified users who agree with them. For this crowd I've described, they think The Daily Show With Jon Stewart is a news program they can count on as their primary source of information and analysis.

And to make matters worse, in not many years from now, these uninformed and over-confident middle schoolers will be eligible to vote!

Thanks for a good question. However, without there being any requirements or qualifications to "speak" here, Answers sometimes will seem more like a zoo than a source of good info.

Thanks, Rug.
