I woke up at three-thirty am, EST, due to the need to relieve my bladder. I did so with no problem {and still can}. I thought the 'cramp' that was occurring would fade, but it hasn't.

It's occurring very near to my groin on the left side, and my urethra tingles with the spasms. The pain feels like an incredibly pulled muscle or a full bladder that abruptly went to empty. It occurs in cycles; it's usually tolerable, but it will become worse rhythmically. The left side feels slightly harder to touch, but that could be my imagination. I don't seem to be running a fever.

I would really appreciate any help given shortly.

Honestly, none of us here can tell you what is causing the pain. You need to see your gyno for that answer.

However, I can try to help you relieve the pain:
1. Put a heating pad where it hurts
2. Take Advil to reduce any swelling (if you are not allergic to it)
3. Elevate your legs in case it is a circulation problem (it likely isn't, I'm just being safe).
4. Try to notice what makes the pain better or worse, because your doctor will probably ask (sitting, standing, sex, peeing, lying on one side, etc.....)
5. If the heat doesn't help, try an ice pack.
6. Try drinking ginger tea. It's a natural pain reliever / stress reducer.
7. Make an appointment with your gyno first thing in the morning.

Good luck!

This sounds a lot like the couple of years I was having gall bladder attacks and everyone thought it was nothing. The pain can be excruciating and the pain starts under the breast bone. I could feel the pain through to my back and stomach. It started having these attacks several times a year, then got progressively worse. They finally gave me an ultrasound and last Dec 19th I had surgery. It was almost too late and if it weren't for my sister having the same problem it could have been worse. For me I have to wear a drain for 9 days, yuck, but I'm thankful it's gone. I still have acid reflux, so it didn't cure every thing. The pain of gall stones was extremely awful. Some times the attacks would start, go away and start again. Can cause your body to have weird symptoms I had to ask for a test. I tried gluten free too. Ask your family if anyone in your family has had their gall bladders removed as it is hereditary, my mom and sister had theirs removed.

Ever have a ovarian cyst rupture? Comes in waves usually quite painful. Either on the left or right. should go away in a day. go to dr. and have it checked out . To find out what it really is they'll do a sonogram. fibroids also cause pain that comes and goes. DON'T take anything until you know what it is. Could aggravate the condition.
