It is a term that is usually applied to Fundamentalist Christians. They are the Christians that are using morality as if it were an axe, especially on Gay people.

I am a Christian, but I do not ascribe to that form of Christianity.

People who take their religion so seriously and devoutly, and take their beliefs to extreme measures. Whether it be lashing out with words on Y!A or protesting.
