White Bull Terriers have a greater chance of being deaf due to the genetics of their coat colour, in the same way that Dalmatians have a higher likelihood of being deaf. There is a test, known as the BAER test, that can detect whether a dog is suffering from deafness, either unilateral or bilateral, or has good hearing in both ears. There are only a limited number of centres in the UK that offer BAER testing, but an owners own vet should be able to tell a client where the nearest BAER testing facility is.

Ask the breeder for a vets certificate if they say the litter has been tested, and phone the vet to check. If the breeder doesn;'t mention it they havent been tested then assume they haven't.
In general, a dog or cat that has a white ear and a blue eye on the same side will be deaf in that ear. A brown eyed dog may be deaf, or carry the deafness gene, if it has white ears.
The hearing test given by the vet is the only way to tell so its best to have it done, its usually done from 6 weeks to about 8 weeks.

White bull terriers are prone to deafness, just the same as other white breeds. The breeder should test for hearing,if they dont you could request that your pup is tested.Deaf dogs can be trained just the same as a hearing dog but obviously they look for hand signals etc.

Deafness is a problem in white Bull Terriers. A responsible breeder will have the puppies BAER tested before selling.

A good breeder will have a pup tested if it is at risk. Deafness is no reason not to get a dog though. They learn hand signals pretty well. You just can't have them off leash in an insecure area.

Deafness is not so common in coloured EBTs. Ask your breeder to guarantee the pup or to issue a vet's certificate. This is especially important with all white pups. With EBTs it is worth spending the extra to get a healthy and reliable animal.

Dogs are like humans and can be born with health conditions no they do not test them for deafness you can go to your local vet and get their opinion wich is what i would do especially if he/she is not coming when you call them or if they dont react to noise at all

If you want a white one ask the breeder to get it's hearing checked by a vet.
