I spent weeks putting this together. I hope it presents a case that:

1. Early Christian violence was ok according to the Bible. That these were "true" Christians killing people.
2. Jesus did not only teach peace but war and hate.
3. Jesus was a hypocrite and therefore could not be perfect.

How well does the video do?

*makes note to slow down text*

The problem was I had more info than I thought and tried to cram it all in.
Putting it on full-screen helps alot though.

Lemme see.

OK, first of all, the blooming video streaming was a solid pain in the ...

Second of all, it clearly said that in the Old Testament, blah blah blah!

Ergo, one could accept your first conclusion.

However, where is the connection with Jesus Christ and what was in the Old Testament?

Did Jesus tell Theodosius to execute children found playing with pagan statuettes?

Did Jesus tell Torquemada to create the Auto del Fey, the Inquisition?

Did Jesus tell the crazed Christians lead by the minister Peter to cut Hypatia, the Alexandrian Pagan Philosopher with shards of glass?

Where do you find Jesus preaching Hate and War?

Where do you find Jesus being a hypocrite?

Granted that even He was not Perfect!

But, how can you fault the Master, the Teacher for what He had never done?

His Message was one of Love an Forgiving!

He said that if one should slap you, turn not in anger but show the other cheek!

Does that sound like a message of Hate and War to you?

How about "Let he who has not sinned, cast the first stone."???

Verily, there be none so blind as will not see.

Pax vobiscum, pax dominic!

Interesting video. I actually see two different major points here. 1) You believe that Christianity is not "true" because some professed Christians dont act like Christians. I assume they were not Christians. This may come as a surprise to you, but, MOST professed Christians are not in fact Christians. Just Religious. The "wheat" and the "tares" grow together. 2) You then take Christs teachings and sayings out of their context and try to Him out to be a hypocrite. Heck, you can "make" Jesus to seem to teach ANYTHING when a person does that. Your point #1 above is just plain FALSE. There is not anyplace in the N.T. where it advocates Christian violence. Jesus did NOT just teach "peace and love". He taught that peace could only be attained by individuals through His atoning death and acceptance of His salvation. He never taught hate. Calling the religious leaders of His day hypocrites, is NOT hate. Telling the Truth is never hate. And only He has the RIGHT to judge them. He is their maker. Your problem is you have accepted "repackaging" of Jesus and His teachings, instead of the biblical One. Jesus has ALWAYS declared He came to bring division. You are either for Him or Against Him. There will always be that tension. But He NEVER advocated hating ones enemys. Your other error is ascribing EVIL to God because He either kills people, or has them killed. Really now. The idea of Man judging God is laughable. God could no more be wrong and Man be right, than a biological son could be older than his father. Its like cutting off the branch you are sitting on. ALL people who want to judge God as immoral because He takes lives make the same mistake. It is IMMPOSSIBLE for God to MURDER anyone. WHY? Because murder is the UNLAWFUL taking of anothers life. But God is the SOURCE of Life. If God decides to take a life, He is just RETRIEVING what ALREADY belongs to Him. So in short, while your video is impressive, it is full of misassumptions and crammed with verses taken out of their context. Also, another thing you do not address is: Jesus' words cannot be divorced from WHO is saying them. If I were to say some of the things that Jesus said, they WOULD be ridiculous and hateful. Because I have no RIGHT to say them. But Jesus, since He is the God that created us, as proved by His mastery over nature and validated by His Ressurection has EVERY right to tell every human being on the planet the TRUTH about their own nature and the consequenses of their own behavior. The fact that you (or any other person) cannot see in CHRIST the moral perfection that is there, says EVERYTHING about YOU and NOTHING about Him. As Jesus said, If you cannot "see" the spiritual truth about yourself, it is because you are spiritually blind. ....theBerean

A lot of the text is very difficult to read. You should probably add a dark outline to it. The text also goes by pretty fast. And some of the points you make are a bit weak, even though I agree with your overall message; your Argumentum ad Hitlerum comes across as strained, for example. The strongest part of the video is your string of quotations from Jesus, surprisingly enough.

I don't think this is the most accessible video for explaining this point, though it's a good effort. This might almost work better as an essay than as a video, considering that it makes no use of audio to explain any of its point, and that it's so text-intensive.

In your question, you stated that early Christian violence was okay according to the Bible. Exactly, where is that found? If you're referring to the Old Testament, that was long before Christianity came into existence. Jesus did not teach war or hate. Jesus preached unity with the Father through him (John 17). Jesus said that we would be hated by men because of his namesake. Jesus told us to "Love your enemies and bless those who curse you and do good to those who hate you," etcetera (Matthew 5:43-48).

Jesus was not a hypocrite. I don't know which Jesus you're referring to, but the Jesus I know is all about saving those who are lost, not killing them in the name of God.

Yeah man, it's cool. Make it a little slower...seriously some texts cannot be read, its too fast.
And on a personal level I think Jesus was a master, like some buddhists or hindu. It's John & Paul and all those spineless creeps who made a freakin religion out of it to control the world.
But I'm pretty sure he was one of the best teachers. He spoke in metaphors, and you could not maintain eye contact with him apparently...it was just too intense....

It really don't matter how many video's or anything else non-believers keep putting out.
God gave his only Son to die for our sins and he is perfect in his love. Gods war is against evil and he will win and yes there will be a war against evil again and the people that don't except him will die, That is the choice he gave you when he was hung on the cross.
Even God is sad when his own children won't except him but he dose tell you ahead of your time so you have a choice!

Another entry in to this video....

My opinion is actually the same as your words above.
