omg... :( - that's so sad.
No, i've never had anyone die in my arms, and i hope that it never happens to me. I'm sorry that it happened to you and i'm even more sorry that it was your mother.

As a matter of fact I have. MY first wife died in my arms after a car wreck back in '85, just outside the City of Rangoon in what was then Burma and is now Myanmar. I can still see her face everywhere I look. The last gasp of breath from her life haunts the silence of the night. And the cold that swept over her body in her last moments chills me on even the warmest days.

Yes. I'm Polynesia, born in New Zealand. In our culture we gather when family or friends are dying. We also sleep with the deceased (who is lying in an open coffin), they are never left alone until they are buried. We pray and sing and wait for other family members and friends to come and pay their respects. My parents are still alive, and I cannot imagine what it would be like to loose either of them. But I know what it's like to loose someone you love dearly, to be in the room with them while they pass away. My condolences to you and your family. I'm sorry for your loss. I believe your mother's love, and spirit lives on in you.

Her last breath, soul , and spirit went back to God.
Her memory and love is found in your heart, your spirits are closer than you think, She is with you:)
Your departure is very temporary here on earth compare to eternity in heaven.

I am sorry for your loss of your lovely mother.
I recently sat with my mother, holding her hand, surrounded by flowers, cards, music, my 2 sisters; and watched my mother die. But I thought of it as watching my mother live.
But to me, my mother's spirit, the essential soul that was my mother, passed over about 3 hours before her tired little body gave up.
Her last words to me were "I know" after I told her that I loved her. Her last words were "Max", my father's name.
I know she wanted to go, she had had enough. Who was I to wish her still here, to prolong pain and distress. I let her go with love.
