If you're not on your parents policy, have your own car, and been driving at least five years, how much do you pay for car insurance each month?

This will be for full coverage, and the driver has had no accidents or violations on their license? I'm just trying to get an idea what the average is for others before choosing a different insurance company.

Way too many variables in this question?

Age will make a difference but with more than three years of verifiable driving history that should help offset some of the young driver surcharge that some carriers may charge, marital status, garaging location of vehicle, Insurance experience, claims, ticket’s accidents, student, home owner, type of vehicle, number of miles driven per year so on and so on. With some carriers good credit will get one a better rate too.

My suggestion is to just pick up the phone and start shopping rates or you could go on line but often the on line rater programs will not be able to find you the discounts that an actual agent can find for you. I would start with Standard carriers like Allstate, Amika, AIG, GEICO ect. These companies will want to run a credit score or what they like to call request an insurance score, but if ones credit is good enough the savings can be huge!

Then you could check around with Non-Standard companies call a reputable Independent Agent to help you get rates with those. I can’t really give you any names for them because there are so many out there, but the carries I mentioned above often offer non standard lines but they are much more expensive than one might be able to find by using an Independent agent.

Good shopping and remember there are so many variables involved with getting the best insurance rates. Paying less than $100 per month for full coverage insurance is not an unheard of price range but again it all depends on a multitude of factors. I pay just over $200 per month for full coverage with higher than required limits for 2 German cars one of which is an SUV the other is considered a sport sedan with 2 drivers in Dallas were insurance is not cheap! So I consider myself very lucky. It was half that in Portland.

Good luck hope I’ve been able to help.
