I am debating on getting a Weim for my daughter's birthday, and it will be a silver male, and I have been straining my mind trying to think of an original name.

Great name!
Here is a great Weim site, with puppy training tips on the side-bar> http://www.wcweimrescue.org/puppies.html

That is a really cool name. I love to hear original names for animals. I always act like I am talking to the puppy and say the name several times. Using it to say Sterling sit, sterling come and see how I like it. It also is a 2 syllable name which they is easier for a dog to distinguish. Most commands are one syllable so going with a 2 syllable names is better. They say 3 syllables are to much. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the new puppy.

I love that name, Sterling. Never heard it before, for a dog.
But...years ago someone told me the dogs name should end in a vowel. Why, because during training you are going to say your dogs name a lot (before commands) and that ending vowel rolls off the tongue easier. Just wanted to throw that out there. Whatever name you choose for your future new pup I bet it'll love it. Have fun.
