I thought this guy was showing interest in me - so I asked him out, and he agreed to go (he even blushd) but I should've known I wasnt ready to date yet. (Selling the house, drama with the ex, etc.)

I see him two months later and remind him of that date. He stands real close to me, softly tells me "To be honest...."
he's in a relationship now, it's not "official" and so on, and so on. I nodded my head and was about to walk away, the strange thing is he kept going on about it "I'm out of the game, I'm not in the market anymore" then he says "Thanks for the offer though, I appreciate it"

I GOT IT DUDE!! I understand.

Why'd he feel the need to go on and on with the explanations?

Why do you care so much for something that means so little. Guys are idiots and women over analyze. That is just the way it is.

Methinks the gentleman doth protest too much...he was trying to convince himself, not you. You're okay, I can tell. Don't worry about the weird vibes, you're going to find more strange ones than normal when you get settled back into the dating ritual once again. It's a very strange world nowadays...

Because nine times out of ten he was probably seeing this person when you asked him out. The continuous explanation was guilt or he may have wanted to see how this would affect you. Like maybe you getting upset or mad or something of that nature. Bottom line.........I don't think he got the response he may have been looking for...lol!!

Because he has the I.Q. of an artichoke----------congratulations you are able to scrape him of your shoes so easily!
Don't let this one foul experience hinder you in anyway from seeking out and embarking upon a new romance!

He wanted to make it perfectly clear where he stood. Would you have rather had him lead you on without telling you anything? I feel bad for you, but at least he had the guts to tell you upfront.

maybe he doesn't want to hurt you by breaking the news to you directly. or maybe he doesn't know how to say it. you know, some guys are like that.
