In all positions of power there are some people who abuse it. Sad but true.
I for one do appreciate the job police officers do and the risks that go with it that they take everyday. They too are on the front lines of a war everyday but get little recognition or thanks for the job they do willingly. They are the hero's who are sometimes invisible and always taken for granted. They see the very worst of our inhumanity and yet most of them retain their compassion for victims.
I would like to thank them (even the ones who've given me speeding tickets before I became ill! lol!!!). Thank you for the peace of mind I have when I go to bed at night. Thank you for putting yourself in harms way so that I don't worry quite so much when my children are out and about. Thank you for maintaining your humanity in the face of inhumanity. Just thank you!

I agree! Without the police, who else do we have to fear? The police get thanked every time they cash that paycheck. If that doesn't work for them, they should get into a different line of work. We talk about how the police put themselves on the line every day for us...BALONEY!! The police are canned heros. They apply for the job, they take the job, they occasionally do the job. They have choices. No one celebrates me for keeping the phone lines working so your 911 call goes through, but then, I'm not asking anyone to.

Abusing power is not the exclusivity of police officers, and thankfully, is not the norm either, but rather a regrettable exception. They are always in the spotlight (as it should be with any position of authority), and that means that more often than not only the "bad" news become public. I feel safer knowing they're there. It's not an easy job and they get a lot of c--p for it.

My parents are cops and they like what they do. It's been pretty hard at times but, it's worth it. They became cops to serve and protect. Just because some cops are dirty doesn't mean they all are. And, I'd just like to say thanks to everyone. Everyone puts in effort in the world to make it go round so why be specific to one group? Thank everyone.

Thank You babyBear!!!
I know more people out there respect us then hate us, but it is nice to hear it now and then. Seems people only want to voice their opinion when they should really stay silent and stay silent when they should really speak up.
