INGREDIENTS:
3 cups peanuts, raw and in the shell
6 cups water
2 1/2 teaspoons salt

DIRECTIONS:
In a large saucepan, bring peanuts (in shell), water, and salt to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes. When peanuts are done, the peanuts should have swollen to fill the pods. The peanuts should be somewhat chewy. Serve hot. For added southern appeal, serve in brown paper bags. That's how I always used to buy them.

Enjoy!

Bag of green peanuts. Boil in large pot of water and salt till soft. Once boiling can turn down some. Takes a little while to cook. The longer you boil the saltier they get, you can add other seasonings-- either garlic salt or cajun is good.

1 pound raw, in the shell peanuts
8 cups water
1/2 cup salt
Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 3 hours.
You can also add Crab Boil, hot sauce, or cayanne pepper for cajon style.
