Um seems popular here on Earth, and I bet there's been at least one pregnant dude at a circus somewhere, but can science tell us if extraterrestial life is more likely to be paired up or lonely?

I heard Sex is beneficial to natural selection. The strongest combinations would be the most successful. Maybe that would be true on any planet.

Well, given the EXTREME unlikelihood of sexual reproduction evolving(which would require the extremely complex female organs evolving at the same time as the male organs in another being, who happens to be close to the first female, and those two beings also giving birth to at least one male and one female, and the four of them propogating the entire species, which would then evolve into all the other sexually reproducing species in the world today), I would say they are probably asexual.

However, if you consider the posibility that aliens didn't evolve, and were perhaps created, it'd be likely that they were created by the same supernatural source that created life on earth, and therefore would likely be sexual.

So there you go. Two answers, and you can choose the one that best fits your beliefs!

Both forms exist on Earth and it seems that sex, possibly sexual selection is a fast track for developing. It's a way for sharing genes so the cream rises, --until man that is. Now the ability to wield deceit may make the difference. For the self aware the game is different.

If you are talking about only alien life then it can also be a bacteria but yes for extraterrestial intelligence life it should be sex based.

I doubt they would need sex, they would probably have worked out a more efficient system by the time they worked out how to get here! But whether they would do it for pleasure, who knows?
