Yes. You may need stitches.

In response to Jesus_luva: Even if it was doing the dishes, he may need stitches. My sister had stitches on her thumb from that.

And if you cannot afford hospital bills, and the cut is not too deep and is less than 1/2 inch in length you can use superglue instead of stitches. My dad worked with glass a few years back and did that on more than one occasion. The superglue just holds the skin together while it heals and eventually falls off.

If you are stabbed in one of your major body parts or artery's I would suggest you go to the hospital, like straight away. But I hope that does not happen to you.

You might want to get a tetanus shot if you haven't had one in the past 10 years.
Other than that, if it isn't serious, dress the wound yourself and check periodically for any sign of infection over the next couple of days.

It depends---if you can stitch yourself up---and cauterize the wound to stop the bleeding---no. F**k a tetanus shot---purify yourself with a lot of alcohol---you know, drinking, because it also helps deal with the pain and your gonna need it. Trust me.

No.

By all means, you should post annoying questions on Yahoo Answers and wait for our impassioned response.

I'm kidding, of course. If you've been stabbed, you should definitely seek medical treatment, especially if you've hit an artery.

it would be a good idea, you will most likely need a tetanus shot to ward off infection even if the wound isn't deep.
