Don't use dish soap - it is very harsh. Use a gentle bar soap - best yet, a skin conditioning body wash for dry skin - you don't need to be using an antibacterial, especially if it is feeling tight and dry now. By all means continue to use lotion.

no that is way too harsh!! And yes you should definitely still be lotioning it, there's no way it's all healed by now.
Do yourself a favor and call the artist and ask them what you should be doing, even better go in and have them look at what stage it's in and they'll give you clear directions.
AD Ointment should be used for a couple weeks to make sure it looks great forever. If you screw up now it could ruin it forever!

if you want to make it feel tighter and more dried and itch more you could use dishwashing soap. you do not have to use lotion but why would you want to stop. it makes it feel better and look better. people with no tattoos put lotion on their skin to make it softer and feel good. if your tattoo artist did not tell you what to do i would not go back to him/her again.

You don't have to lotion it... but it would be stupid not to. If you are ignorant to the process of caring for a tattoo why didn't you ask your artist?

you should be washing it with anti bacterial soap and you totally need to be putting lotion on it! you shoudl have been doing so since the first day and continue to do it until it is completely healed.
