A "green card" is obtained when the person immigrates to the US, and is proof that a person is a legal permanent resident . Permanent residents can work, buy and own property, start a business - do everything a US citizen can do except vote and pass on citizenship to their children.

A green card is what you get to be a legal immigrant. It's not easy immigrating people there is quite a process but you can apply for it though there are conditions

Its when arab men who live overseas marries a girl from the US and uses her just to get a green card. If he marries the girl then he eventually can move here in the US then after I think... a year... hes legally able to stay here if he gets divorced. It happened to my cousin so yeeeahhhh I know what men overseas go thro just for a DAMN GREEN CARD! Ugh unbelievable men in this world!
