I have heard people who claim self-worship = Satanism because it is worshipping themselves, instead of God.
My question is, how? God worships himself. We are supposed to strive to be like God, right?
So, if God worships himself, & we are striving to be like God, what is wrong with worshipping ourselves also? Is this not just another way of doing what God does, & worshipping him in the next level?
Surely, if we emulate God, we cannot go wrong, can we?

I'm not sure how you came up with the "God worships Himself" line. Worship isn't for God's ego, it's a method for those who love Him to get closer to Him since it opens their hearts to Him.
I also don't think I'd call self-worship = Satanism. I think it's self-worship or rather egomania. Satanism could be described as putting Satan in God's place in your life, as if Satan were God and God was inconsequential.

God DOES NOT worship HIMSELF; He created us to worship Him.
God created all of us, so we owe our very best to honor Him.
Remember Lucifer was cast out of Heaven because he wanted to be God.
But as Scripture relates: "Does the clay tell the Potter what to do?"
AND "Is the servant greater than the Master?"
We are God's creation. WE are to worship the CREATOR, GOD.
To think that we are to worship ourselves is the beginning of a road to self-destruction and turmoil, not to mention a free ride to Hell, if a person does not make things right between him/herself and God before he/she dies.

I'm not sure that Satanists actually believe god exists. A lot of the Satanic bible is actually in mockery of the bible. If a Satanist doesn't believe Satan is real then I'd say the same is true of God - used metaphorically again.

The thing is, Satan, is also created by G-d, though he rebelled like us. The Creator, blessed be His Name, knows this s o that he could test those who deserves His grace. and vfilter out those who deserve His Wrath.
