If we do no believe in God, how do you think that Satan is perpetrating our lack of belief. With our current understanding of the universe around us, God does not seem to be in the least bit plausible.

Do you believe that Satan is actually a root cause of Atheism?

Satan and Satanism exist only in the Bible. In reality, the existence of Satan is being scoffed off since it is a faith based idea, such as the belief of God.

Atheists in fact, shouldn't have any belief in Satan or the Devil since there is no God itself in its ideology. Its foolish to think Atheists are perpetrating the lack of belief in God.

A long time ago, humans used to belief in a flat world, a flat map and 'edge of the earth'. Then science discovered and proved that it wasn't. The first discoverers were labelled as practicing witchcraft and 'evil'. Such were the faith of those believers.

Believers can change faith any moment, at any given time, but the TRUTH cannot be distorted. Just like the discovery of the tomb of Jesus... Christians are claiming that it is NOT the tomb of Christ despite its proof.

Look at it this way. If Satan exists, and hates God and is an enemy of god, wouldn't it be in his best interest that people don't believe in God? Satan doesn't care that you don't believe in his existence either. He is just happy if people don't worship God.

I don't want to argue how plausible the existence of God is. I guess you just don't see it the way I do. God has much to offer. His love, his guidance, his forgiveness and his promise of eternal happiness with Him. All these things Satan detests and doesn't want for the Humans God created and loves. He lies to people about God. He does this in many ways. Atheists are not to be criticized for falling into Satan's traps in worse ways than anyone else is. The devil can take a believer , and tempt him to forget what God taught and be an outrageous hypocrite. Satan is the root cause of anything that keeps us from loving and serving God.

I understand what you mean. I am also atheist (used to be christian) and apparently Satan is the one who influences sinning and leads people to do bad things...or something along those lines. As for making us not believe...I have no idea...if he does exists then maybe he causes us to question the bible and to think more practically, which I do all the time and I came to the conclusion that God is a myth...*GASP* Satan has done it again, he's created another atheist!!! ...but like others said, I don't believe Satan exists...this is a let's pretend Satan is real question.

Ya know, that's a great point.
Obviously being atheist doesn't mean you follow Satan's hand but maybe its more of a complex trick. You may not believe in god but you also don't believe in Satan. That's a chance hes willing to take. Just cause you don't believe in him might still not make him not real,if he is then you have fallen into his trap/trick. Everyone is tempted by "the dark side", and whom does not give in sometime? This also is a part of his work.
Whether or not you believe in god, everyone lives by their own set of rules thus believing in yourself. I would bet that if god was real and you choose not to believe in him, as long as you live your life the best you can, he will be happy (speaking as a father).
You still make a great point and topic question.

Satan is simply a christian construct used to frighten people into following their beliefs. If you believe in satan, you must therefore also believe in the christian god. If you follow this logically, it means that an atheist cannot be a satanist.

Because there is no god, there is no satan.

Atheism. You know it makes sense.

My question to you: Do you believe in Satan? If you do and think he exists, then why not God? Any lack of belief is your choice. Does Satan cause it? Absolutely not. You do. The only influence Satan might have is to give you doubt. You make the decision.

God is not the least bit plausible? I must strongly disagree. There is no shortage whatsoever on the things science is yet to explain. So with you telling me that God is not the least bit plausible, coinciding with what I know about the universe, I'd say that Satan has a role in this story.

The direct answer to your question: perception.

Oh... for the record, I'm no Christian. I would say Agnosticish, perhaps theistic. I tend to believe that there is a god of some sort, and I believe that because of scientific reasons, but I'm not sure. Point is, in science, there is certainly room for god. I can see how someone can believe in god and also fully understand everything humans know about science.

For that reason, I don't necessarily believe in Satan either, but you asked a hypothetical question, so I gave the answer corresponding with that hypothetical situation.

To answer your question, it depends what you believe in. First of all, if you do believe in God, then you can spin this argument by stating that the people who turned away from God (atheists) have done so because the Devil has "tempted" them to just like he tempted Eve to eat the apple of knowledge in the Garden of Eden. If you want my personal agnostic opinion about this, I think that our mainstream society has a sub-belief in God meaning that God is not on their top priority, but he is there somewhere. The reason is because we live in a Capitalistic society where everybody is competing for more and more money and material goods. I don't think that people have enough time, or better yet, enough will to serve God when our Capitalistic society strongly enforces them to serve themselves instead. So in other words, people feel like they are Gods in a Capitalistic society, and their main attention should be in striving for the self rather than God. Do you agree or disagree?

No. I just have a hard time believing in God. The whole thing just doesn't add up. I guess I'm to practical or need hard evidence.

If you don't believe in God, why would you believe in Satan?

People create good and evil, not God and Satan.

There is no Satan.God is the creation of men to answer the questions of "why" and "how" and they created this God to be good and so they had to also create a concept of a bad person responsible for everything that was not "Godly" and so they created Satan. But a true Atheist knows that both are inventions of men in order to gain quick and easy answers and to place responsibility for both good and evil on an invisible being that sits in the clouds or in the center or the Earth, depending on which magical Deity they are dreaming up for whatever situation they happen to need that Deity to explain something.
