I don't think a thanks is necessary for an e-card. Nice, but not necessary.

You should always follow your own rules of good manners. I always send my brother and his wife birthday cards and his two children birthday gifts and cards. He never sends birthday greetings or presents and only contacts us once a year if we're lucky. At least you know you are doing what you think is right and what you are comfortable with. Don't make yourself unhappy trying to conform to the bad habits of others!

This is up to you. Some people never do send a reply. Very few people I know say anything about an ecard. I got quite a few on my birthday. I was out in the field and couldn't send a message to everyone who sent one to me. I normally try to.

It is common courtesy to reply and say thank you even to an e-card. I think that you should be the bigger person and still say thank you when you receive their e-cards.

I, like you think it is pretty rude to not say thanks or acknowledge you got one. I had two very good friends who used to do the same and then one day I asked them why, they both said they didn't think about it. I think people take E Cards for granted, maybe send them an actual card and see if that gets their attention.

With some acquaintances i do no longer assume a thank you lower back. If i deliver one to my mom or some thing i frequently warn her first using fact she wont keep on with links or open attachments until pre arranged first.. So i might deliver a digital mail or a telephone call explaining to open it and how too do it. confident a thank you is constructive to have lower back.. yet i do no longer frequently deliver ecards.. I actual have had acquittance's unsolicited mail me with ecards and as various the photographs are constructive and that i admire the cardboard. I dont like getting spamed via them the two.

Never!
If the absence of a thank you disturbs you, why would you want to become that kind of person? If you are looking for revenge, forget it. You didn't send a card to be mean. You don't wish someone well to be mean. You don't help others to be mean. So, don't wait for the thanks, but show grace and joy when you DO receive thanks from someone.
If you behave the same way that someone with poor etiquette behaves...you become them.

Not a big deal really. Forget about it.
I suggest you do whatever it is that you would normally do when receiving a little card. sounds like you are very polite, happy and friendly.
Now, why would want to change that!!
Cheers!
