Hi, if you do not have a high internet service then all those program will slow down and also the distortion you may have needs to be the adjusted on your computer-control panel-settings and go to volume and adjust form there .

All of these answers are a little bit right, but nobody has really hit it, it could be as simple as making sure your speakers are not blown. IS the sound distorted on everything? If so it could be your sound card is bad, or speakers are bad, does your computer run slow during day to day tasks or is it only choppy during movies? If it is always slow, then you need to make sure not too many programs are running in the background and invest in more RAM, as this will solve most issues related to speed in a computer better than a new processor will. THe other problem could be that your video settings on the computer are trying to render the DVD as it is playing, to alleviate this issue you would need to either tell the dvd program to render with hardware instead of software, and let your video card do the work. Go to circuit city or best buy or wherever and buy some compressed air, blow out the inside of the dvd player for 5 second bursts three times WITH THE PC OFF, and then try again. DOwnload Lavasoft adaware se, from CNET.com to check for adware and spyware, and see how much free space is on your computer. If there is not much you may want to clear out some old files or back them up onto thumb drives or cd's if you have a cd burner.

If none of this helps, email me at alexhanke@yahoo.com
and I will try to help you that way, and see if we can't get it fixed.

sounds like your computer is getting bogged down, could be by adware/spyware/virus or the like. or it might just be too slow - make sure all other applications are closed. should have at least a 1ghz machine for decent dvd playing.

Your DVD player must have got dusty. Clean it. If it is old something must have gone wrong inside

You might need to clean ur computer or ur computer is one of the older brands and in that case it hasn't got enough stuff which makes it run quicker.
I hope that helps u.
