Furthermore, what can you attribute to the enlightening and amazing experiences atheists experience?

This question comes from another question I came across on a different website :

"How do you explain the changed lives of millions of people throughout history who testify to a life changing experience with Jesus Christ?"

If any single belief system could be the so-called "true religion", why are there "life changing experiences" accounted for that relate to almost any world-views?

Wouldn't any given god make sure the enlightening, profound experiences were reserved only for the ascribing members of this "one true" whatever?

Apparently someone missed the question. I'm not asking WHY anyone believes in what they believe. I didn't state anything that is my opinion.

Actually the question has little to do with belief and more to do with Christian rationalization. It's a simple question, and one less ignorant than the Christian's question I read on another site (See above).

Still waiting for a decent answer!

Let me tell you something

Islam - it is based on the belief of a single God. It condemns idol-worship. So does Christianity.

Judaism- It is one half of Christianity. The Lord is same.Jehovah.

Buddhism- It is based on meditation and silent prayer. It brings peace, removes anger, and brings goodness in life.

God(Jehovah incarnate Jesus) favours all these qualities in the other religions. That is why he changes their lives for the better.

I don't personally believe there is one 'true religion'. If you think about it - it would be pretty amazing to imagine God existing with Buddha (and the other deities), Gishnu (and the other Hindu deities), the heavenly bodies that the Aborignals of America, Canada, and Australia believe in, and them all cooperating/not cooperating in the outer reaches of our physical world.

In this world, we have developed science as a means to find fact because it is concrete however, even in some situations, science cannot explain some phenomenons that have occurred to humans. However, i do believe that there are things, energies or entities in this universe helping us live through life and to help us cope with whatever situation we encounter. There will be times though that some people don't pick up these signs because they are totally locked within their own grief and fear - they miss it. And life goes on. Atheists however have chosen another path - and that is a path of no faith what-so-ever. And they choose that path and are happy to.

I think the phenomenons that certain people experience cannot be explained and why would you want to. I like to know that I'm safe and that no matter what - as long as I'm TRUE to myself and be the best person that i can be, can i live a life that is mostly filled with joy and happiness. Belief, faith and spirituality is an important part of living a long, healthy life!

religion is a matter of belief. It has nothing to do with rationalism or discussion. Don't know what you have in mind when you ask this question.

Do we really need to?

Nobody asks you why you believe in whatever you do, so why pick on us?

If you think you know it all, please keep your extreme wisdom to yourself!

Your "brilliance" is not really welcome here.

Sheesh, Islam is the fastest growing "Religion" in the world???

Well, let's all wait and watch!

Time will tell what will happen, anyway.

Cheers!
