Two general rules to follow about music:

1. do the words honor god? are the lyrics clean? would you be ashamed to play it and have others hear it? your pastor?

2. does the group honor god with their lives? are they living lives that are examples of following god or following the devil?

If both answers are YES, then go for it.. If both are NO, then drop it. If one is yes and one is no, then be careful.

But also, does your sister really care about you? Is she telling you this because she really wants the best for you? if so, pay attention to her. think about how you are spending your time, what you are allowing to come into your ears.

god bless

Well, Comfortably Numb is basically a song about a guy who needs drugs to go on stage, and the hallucinations he has on the drugs. So, if you're a Christian, it might make you uncomfortable. But don't not give a listen to the other stuff! It's not even the best Pink Floyd track - Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of The Moon, Shine On (You Crazy Diamond) or Have a Cigar are much better tracks. Don't worry - they're not satanists or anything like that. Just a totally kick *** band who've been around for 40 years. In fact, their songs are very intelligent, heavily influenced by literature, and really quite deep. I've loved them all my life.

Are you serious?
God is within
Conviction comes from within
How do YOU feel about it?
If you get direction from within, that you should quit something
From the spirit of God
and you do
Then you make room for God
If you just quit stuff becuz u think u should, or others tell you too
Then you'll just be really bored
it's called self will
pray and ask the Lord
He will answer you, if you can believe, that he will
HE WILL by the way
oh and one thing:that song's main emphasis is the man can't go on, it's time to play and he's too tired, and so somebody shoots him up, so he'll go on
later that singer had a nervous breakdown....so maybe sis is right

Your sister has no right to tell you what you can or cannot listen to. Just remember shes not God or jesus, she is your sister. She may not like the song and that is why she tells you not to listen to it. Pink Floyd is a classic band, Their song writing and music are top notch. Don't let her push you around.

It's not worshiping Satan, is it? It's art, people, art.

Yes, it's about drugs. However, these drugs were given to the protagonist of the song against his will and by a doctor. It was because a greedy man wanted his money from the protagonist performing a concert, even though he wasn't feeling good.

Greed=bad. Doesn't the Bible teach us that? Perfectly good Biblical morals.

Well if God is telling you not to listen that's one thing. He isn't telling me the same thing. I like Pink Floyd. David Gilmore is a genius on the guitar.

It sounds to me like your sister is a Legalist.
