Do a research on-line about styles, decorating, etc - this will save you money on magazines. Go to a "decorating Center" - there you can look through differnt wallpaper books and colour swatches, which can give you loads of ideas. Take samples whenever you can. Small tip - wallpapers are better to be seen in Decorating centeres, but to be bought on the internet - it is cheaper (make sure you write down the name of the Pattern book & number of the pattern).
Save all the pictures from the internet of the interiors you like. Make one document with ideas for every room.
Visit a home-improvement exhibition - there (especially by the end of the exhibition) you can buy discounted goods because they are on display there, & exhibitors are not too keen to drag them all back with them.
Do not be afraid to make a reasonable offer for something you like.
There are stores that sell paint, decorating stuff by trade prices. I know a few good ones in UK, - I don't know where you live..
Recycle - there are a lot of salvage yards you can get the goods from. Do not be afraid of the looks of the stuff you find - with a thorough cleaning or painting, or varnishing - every old thing can turn into a jewel!
Look for special deals in DIY stores- do not buy things from the 1st store you look in.
E-bay is a very good source for finding things cheaper then they are in the shops. Do not look only in ebay listings, but also in Ebay shops.
Hope this helps

The least expensive thing is paint. A fresh coat of paint in a new color can really dress up a room. You can also get new curtains. My wife and I just pained our living room and put up new curtains. It looks like a whole new room. Total cost about $100.
It will always save you money to do the work yourself. When you say remodel, do you mean change the layout of the house? move walls and doors? new cabinets and counters? or redecorate? keep the structure and change the look.
Cabinets can be refinished and get new doors for about half the price of new cabinets. A new counter top on the old cabinets can dress up the whole kitchen.
Shop the thrift stores and yard sales for decor items. Shop clearance sales. Check out shows like 'Design on a Dime' on HGTV.
Have fun with the project. Make the place reflect your personality.

I can only give you the most inexpensive way, and that is to Do-It-Yourself. Every aspect of it, from the canvassing of prices, to the purchasing and to the building, it'll all have to be you, or your hubby. This is time consuming, but if you really want to save money, then that is the only way I know.
If you have a friend who's studying interior design, but has not graduated yet, you may also seek his advice. I'm sure he/she would be glad to help out, and you don't get to spend much for the fee.

Doing it yourself will cut down on the labor cost. The only other thing is to try and find a way to get your material cheaper. Going to discount places, maybe even salvage yards. Discontinued stock from a store, coupons, sales, or however else you can cut costs. Good luck
