I didn't go to school today since I got sick with some unknown flu or virus. When I eat/drink, something pushes up my mouth, I get big migraines, my whole body is numb, and I have excessive coughing up of yellow mucus. I'm 12 and in grade six. My mom will make me go to school tommorow but I seriously feel sick, so sick that I can't even think. What do I do?

Tell your mom that you need to see the doctor so you can make sure your illness doesn't require an antibiotic. Tell her going to school isn't going to make you better, but spread germs to others. Remember, you got sick because some other mother sent their child sick. I'd rather my daughter miss a day or two and get well, then keep trying to go to school and end up missing more days because I pushed her.

sounds like you have influenza. stay home from school -why get anyone else sick. drink lots of fluids and that means anything you can keep down. treat your pain with advil or tylenol.
if you've been sick less than 72 hours, visit an ER or urgent care. if it really is the flu, there is a medicine (Tamiflu) that will reduce your symptoms.
wash your hands more frequently and tell your mom that you are contagious.

Oh my god! You need to see a doctor honey! Surely your mother can see how sick you are cant she? Any concerned mother would never send her child to school if you were showing symptoms like you described. Ask her to take you to the Dr so that they can tell you whats wrong and how long you will need off school to recover. If you have to go to school. Go straight to the sick room and wait all day for her to pick you up!

If you are coughing up yellow mucus, you have an infection of some sorts, either viral or bacterial. Either way, you need to visit your doctor. Tell you mom of your problem so that you can seek some help. Best of luck.

If your mom wouldn't listen to you. Do her a favour and go to school. BUT. . ..
Since you're really sick, when you go to school tell your teacher or the first-aid lady of your school.
Tell them what situation you're in. And when they found out, they will bring you to the office and call your mom. I don't think they accept students who have viruses to school, fearing it might spread to other students.
So try that, and maybe it will work.

Tell your mom how you really feel, and if she still makes you go, lay down in the nurses office and sleep or something.
