and rolls down the window to speak to the officer. the officer who has been tailing the guy for the past 5 miles is tired after a hard days work and doesnt want the trouble of writing a ticket so he says that his shift is almost over and that if the man can give him an excuse that he's never heard before, the officer would let him go with just a warning. the man says that 20 years ago his wife left him for a police officer. not seeing the connection, the officer asks how this justifies the speeding and refusal to stop. the man earnestly says: "i was afraid you were bringing her back" the man left without a ticket
