Hi Ash,
You made a mistake, and it's not a huge deal. Please don't lie to anyone since it is very easy to get caught in a lie and ending up in more trouble.
It would be best to be honest with your teacher and your mom. Just tell them what happened and ask them to help you out of this problem. I am sure they will help you out.
Good luck!

First take you paperwork back to the teacher, and explain what you did. Make sure to bring in all of your work ready to be turned in. If that gets you nowhere, then you have 2 choices. Choice #1 Go to the guidance counciler and talk to them. Sometimes they can intervene with a teacher especially if you have not been in trouble before and for the most part your grades are doing not so bad. Choice #2 Talk to your mom. Explain that you just did not read both papers thru to the end, and what steps you have taken before talking to her to fix your error. If you approch her the right way, she will see that it is an honest mistake and that you are trying to get things straight on your own. If you really can not talk to your mom about something this simple, then maybe you should find an adult that you can trust and talk to them about your home life. They might be able to help you. No one should live in fear while in their home.

I would really love to help you but I don't quite understand. When you say "collected", do you mean "turned in".
Also, today is March 13, so if you did what was supposed to be done today, and explained your misunderstanding, I am sure it can be worked out.
Don't worry, just get a good nights sleep and straighten it out in the morning. Most of the time people can tell that you made an honest mistake regarding the due dates. If you go in with a good attitude I know you will be able to get this straightened out.
Much luck to you, go to sleep, let us all know how it turned out for you, I know I would like to know. Don't want to have to worrry about you.

I don't exactly understand what happened. If I were you, I would still try to take care of the papers immediately anyway. You might get lucky (who knows?). In regards to your mom, I say be honest and straight forward. Explain the mistake you made and try to cover anything up. Honesty is a sign of maturity and will protect you. Sure, you messed up but if you are willing to take responsibility for it and not hide from it, you will be better respected and be alright. It is not like your mom is out to only punish you. You are suppose to grow up, become more mature, and take responsibility for youself. So, I recommend that you do just that.

Its not the end of the world. There are worse things that can happen or could have happened. If you act fast, there might be a way to solve the problem but it won't work if you keep it to yourself and get tense and drive yourself mad. Just relax. Take a deep breath and tell your mom. It will be worse if she finds out through someone else especially from the school authorities.
