Yes, Yes, and Yes.
How many parents in today's society actually talk to their kids about sex? Too few is the answer.
How many teens are now getting pregnant? Too many is the answer.

Teens are going through puberty and face a lot of peer pressure. Why not present education to them in a way they will understand it. We are living in the 21st century. We now know that sex is not dirty. And we can statistically/scientifically prove that teaching sex ed. does Not increase the number of teens who are going to have sex.
We need to promote healthy views on sex so that rape statistics can decrease. Too many kids have such poor misconceptions on sex, how does this benefit them?

And we need compulsory child development classes as well.
Everyone says there is no class for parenting. Why can't we change that? If everyone had to learn basic child development and care in high school then our society would be much better off. That way when they do become parents, hopefully as adults, they will have some basic education to rely on.

I'd like to know what the arguments are against this happening?

YES> It should be part of the normal science classes which all students take. It should be age appropriate. 8th grade should be discussing pregnancy and the consequences of it. As far as any moral discussions about it, that should be part of a philosophy or ethics course in high school. I had sex education throughout my entire school upbringing. It was age appropriate. In Freshman year of High School during Honors Biology, we went in depth into reproduction and used NOVA in the school. It was done in a very dignified manner by a pre med student who had taken a year off to teach at our high school. He was the only Jewish teacher in the Catholic School System that I am aware of. He was very good and I would like to see that caliper of teaching done in all schools. He taught our class as if it was a college level course. He treated us all as adults. At that point is when we need to start treating our children as young adults and expecting more of them. To hide that which is controversial from our children is doing them a disservice and under appreciates their intelligence.

In my personal opinion, it should be. Because of lack of sex education, many couples get divorced. Even knowing the outcome, many young generation indulge in pre-marital sex, which is not only unethnic but socially incorrect.

Yes, of course.. You see nowdays films and that damn television are making kids more confused about sex.The teen age guys don't have enough guidence to their problems about their body changes. So sex education and awareness is indeed compulsory in schools.

sex education is not about how to do sex.It is an awareness program that teaches about your sexual organs etc,.
