I am one very clean and tidy person, get everything done, but if I am having a bad day or week, this place looks like a bomb has has hit it. If in my bad old days when I wallowed in my own self pity, relasped into drinking like a fish, did not take my anti depressants, I was lucky to even have a shower, let alone do house work. Thank God for my friends.

My ex-boss used to say ' a cluttered desk equals a cluttered mind'. So what does an empty desk equal? As long as it's not dirty, clutter doesn't bother me at all. There is a difference between dirty and junky.

I find when I get depressed the house looks like a bomb has hit it, as I can't be bothered cleaning up.

my personal opinion; when I'm feeling moody, tired, and frustrated, my house totally reflects it. besides the pile of dishes and mountain of laundry, i tend to keep the shades drawn and lights low.
when i'm feeling energized, refreshed, and happy, my house is clean and organized. i even find time to wash the cars and mow the lawn.
