Ok, I have dyed my hair with kool aid before, so I don't think that I am allergic, but this time when I dyed it with a different color/flavor/type of kool aid, my head itched and burned like heck. Could this possibly be due to the fact I am allergic to something in this type of kool aid? (it's grape, last time I used cherry) Please don't give me smart answers like, "You are crazy to dye your hair with kool aid," or, "'course your allergic, don't be an idiot." I really need some good answers, any methods of removing the itch would be appreciated, and I am willing to rinse it all out, but I woud prefer not to. Thanks.

There is some shampoo you can by that's over the counter called T-gel it about 5 bucks and it works. There is actually an acidic ingredient in the grape flavor only. My husband who is in the Navy actually uses this to brighten up brass fixtures. So next time leave the grape one for the cleaning and drinking and go back to cherry or better yet LIME. ST Patty's Day is coming up! Try the Tgel shampoo it's meant for severe itch of psoriasis and dandruff. I can't guarantee that it won't wash it out. You need to change to green anyway. If it works I'll let you buy my first Green Beer on SAT!

It is possible that you could be allergic to the coloring that is in the grape. Especially if its left on the skin for a long period of time.

It is probably an allergic reaction but it could just be a psychological reaction. You might try not thinking about it, it usually just makes it worse that way.
