God is the creation of man to answer the question of "why" and "how" by early society leaders who were desperate to both explain the "how and the "why" with a list of rules that their God gave in order to have control over the masses and to unite the masses into one view.Man made God in his image because man, at the time men created God, lacked an imagination to create a God that was anything but familiar.

GOD, God, god. Religion molested God real early-on, unfortunately; and now he's a huge tramp.

God is our mind before it went on sale.

God is who we know we can be, but we just can't quit our day jobs. We just turn God into Something because we don't want to do the work to get there.

God is Religion when we're selfish, bored, and/or afraid.

Come on, we all know it. SERIOUSLY, WE ALL KNOW IT!!! God is a back rub, God is a non-diet soda, God is a snowflake, God is a sports car, God is a dildo. Yeah, I said it.

God isn't unless WE ARE. Get what I'm saying?

To begin with FOOD IS GOD, What ever your religion may be, go without food for a day or two. Surely you will not think about GOD you will think about FOOD.When you born you were a small kid. From where did you get your growth? From where did you get physical and mental strength to ask this question? If you are convinced with this, ask which is the second GOD I'll answer you.

Only God can answer this question. If you understand your SELF, you can understand God. How can you evaluate God. How can an ant measure Ocean. Impossible. Since our mind and intellect are limited we can not understand a Being which is beyond the ken of the mind. If you go through philosophical texts, you will understand the futility of measuring or knowing about God. nagarajan.

Or rather we should ask Who is God?
God is a Spirit, pure, all powerful, and omnipresent. God is the supreme power to whom we all should surrender. God is the Creator of the universe, all creatures and all that is seen and unseen. If we consider ourselves as on a high mountain, then God is the pinnacle. We should not try to reach the pinnacle for that is God's place. As long as we are on the mountain slopes we are okay. If we try to reach the pinnacle [i.e. if we try to be God] then there is only one way from there....down, down, down.
Surrendering ourselves to a higher power i.e. God, keeps us in check.

God is truth and love.god is the ethics and morality;god is fearlessness.God is the source of light and life and yet he is above and beyond these.God is conscience. He is even the atheism of the athist. For in his bondless love god permits the athist to live.He is the searcher of hearts. He transcends speech and reason. He knows us and our hearts more better than ourselves. He does not take us at our words for he knows that we often do not mean it,some knowingly and other unknowingly. He is a person god to those need his personal presence. He is embodied to those who need his touch.he is the purest essence. He simply is to those
who have faith. He is all thing to all men.He is in us and yet
above and beyond us.

The material knowledge begins with atheism and moves towards skepticism and then antagonism culminating in the improper understanding of ultimate truth or absolute truth (which some call as God) as impersonal or void. The bible, quran, torah and the teachings of Buddha of Buddhism and Mahavir of Jainism all deal with this material knowledge, which says, there is no God or everything is nothing, or if God is there it (he) is impersonal which is another way of saying no God and so on.

In these scriptures, compared to a pocket dictionary, there is only a hint about the nature of God.In the Vedic scriptures, compared to an encyclopedia, there is much more information about the name of God, form of God, qualities of God, activities of God. Vedic scriptures are go beyond the imperfect material knowledge and give the spiritual knowledge.

Therein one understands that, GOD IS A PERSON and thus has all the personal qualities what we have. WE HAVE A FORM because GOD HAS A FORM. It is not that God has a form because we have a form. The bible also confirms that man is made in the image of God not that God is made in the image of man. Our present material body is temporary and destroyed, whereas we as spirit souls are eternal and the spiritual form is never destroyed. Only the body which is like the covering of the eternal soul is destroyed. With the material vision we cannot see the soul since we are accustomed to seeing only material objects made up of matter. So with material eyes, we cannot see God. But God has got form. That's a fact. Now we are unable to see. We have a spiritual form and God also has a form with two hands, eyes, legs, hands, and everything. But the ingredients are not material but spiritual.

The Vedanta-sutra says, Janmady asya yatah, which means everything is born of the Absolute Truth. Since the Absolute Truth has got form and female aspect, we have form and female companion. Noone can possess, a form or wife or anything that is not present and coming from the Supreme Absolute Truth. Again, the Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12 says, that the nature of the Absolute Truth is anandamayo 'bhyasat, which means, the Absolute Personality of Godhead, Krishna, wants to enjoy ananda (happiness) with his pleasure potency. His pleasure potency is not material since Krishna being completely spiritual doesn't enjoy the material energy but enjoys the internal energy. The Vedas say, Parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate, that Krishna has got many energies multi-energies, and by utilizing, manipulating that energy, He is manifesting Himself in so many ways.

Therefore, impersonal concept of God is imperfect conception of God. As per the statement of Brahma in Brahma Samhita, the Suprem controller, Krishna, God, is sac-cid-ananda-vigraha (eternal, knowledge and blissful form) and is the cause of all causes both material and spiritual.

Excerpts from the Introduction to Bhagavad-gita-as-it-is, by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness)
When we mention the name Krishna, we do not refer to any sectarian name. Krishna means the highest pleasure, and it is confirmed that the Supreme Lord is the reservoir or storehouse of all pleasure. We are all hankering after pleasure. Ananda-mayo 'bhyasat (Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). The living entities, like the Lord, are full of consciousness, and they are after happiness. The Lord is perpetually happy, and if the living entities associate with the Lord, cooperate with Him and take part in His association, then they also become happy.

The Lord descends to this mortal world to show His pastimes in Vrndavana, which are full of happiness. When Lord Sri Krishna was in Vrndavana, His activities with His cowherd boyfriends, with His damsel friends, with the other inhabitants of Vrndavana and with the cows were all full of happiness. The total population of Vrndavana knew nothing but Krishna. But Lord Krishna even discouraged His father Nanda Maharaja from worshiping the demigod Indra, because He wanted to establish the fact that people need not worship any demigod. They need only worship the Supreme Lord, because their ultimate goal is to return to His abode.

The highest tribute ever paid to "Human Depravity" is termed as "GOD". Mans mightiest quest was for "Knowledge"... but the depraved ones settled for "Belief"...that compromise.. comes with the responsibility , which he constantly tries to evade... hence by creating the non-existent "God" he relieves himself .
