It seems that at the core of human behavior is an evil that rages to come out. Our contius selves wish to contain this evil and so we set boundaries. These boundaries maybe anything from religion to laws. Would this be correct and if it is then would that be the eternal stuggle between good and evil?

Humans all have primal desires that can be evil dependant on their personality. I think human nature is the best example of evil.
As for that being the prime example of the battle between good and evil, I have no idea. You make a great point, but I think religion spawns from human desire to feel protected or to serve, while law is made because some feel more responsible or mature than others and feel the need to control them out of superiority complexes.

Good and evil are human concepts, used to define what is and isn't acceptable by a society.

Humans are animals at their core...no more or less. The urge to kill for food, protect one's young, the stronger taking from the weak, sex to reproduce...these are all examples of instinct, not evil.

I, personally, do not have any raging evil inside!
If you did, though, it would definitely be an eternal struggle of good and evil.
That is when you should pray to God to calm the evil tendencies inside and let the good prevail!!
Stop doing mean things and do good things.

I don't believe in good or evil. There is just what is. Besides, perceptions of good and evil have changed drastically over the past two centuries. Do you believe that our society's standards are the same now as they were back in 1807?

No I really think the far eastern mind pegged it when they said the world is created not by a god but out of ignorance and evil is the incomplete knowledge that is needed in full to eliminate ignorance . When knowledge covers ignorance and is complete there is no room left for evil .

Who is to say we are not different at the core? Maybe upbringing and personal experience help solidify our core. I for one don't believe it is set in stone, our mind have of changing we are not good nor evil, but the sum of our experiences.

No. Human nature is in the majority well expressed via empathy and altruism. It is the minority who lack one or both of these instincts.

Generally, human nature therefore is good. It is by no means PERFECT, and even one with intact empathy and altruism can act contrary to them from time to time, but in general, the core of humanity is good and life-affirming.

Evil and Good are relative to personal experiences and environment. That being said, no person lives up to their moral or ethical code unless they have none.
