I have used sparkpeople as well as the many other websites out there. They all have their pluses and minuses...

Sparkpeople is free (+) and they have a great community (+) but their food journal is mediocre and you can basically only track your calories (-)

The website I found that was the best fit for me (maybe not for you, but give it a shot) was http://www.foodsdatabase.com.

This site has a fully functional food log that tracks calories and another 40 nutrients, provides graphs and printouts, has an awesome search engine (best I've seen) and an activity log that actually credits you excess calories you burn and bounces them against your calories consumed.

The only negative is that their community is just starting so its not very active.

Good Luck with your goal

In the past seven months, I have lost over 20 pounds. I've signed up for the emails, but rarely visit the site anymore.

Personally, I don't use their actual setups, but I am on their e-mailing list, and I get tons of information e-mails about health, diet, and nutrition from them. Nothing spammy or annoying either.
