Yes, they do. One artist, Van Gough, is who I always make a reference to when contemplating if the two are related. Van Gough suffered from depression and eventually committed suicide.

I think there is a relationship between intelligence and the possibility of a lack of mental health to some extent. My father is a very smart man but is severely depressed.

Many artists do suffer from some sort of mental illness. That's something I've definitely learned after five years as an art student. It would seem that mentil illness brings out the creativity in people.

Yes we do, i'm a writer and poet. I'm depressed at this very moment, but it's also the time that i'm most creative. Pain tends to make the creative juices flow.
