Get a new one. Radio Shack sells replacement power supplies. Just take in your bad one, and match up the plug, polarity, voltage and current.

You are talking about a power supply. The question is 'is it sealed'. None are really sealed but before you start opening it do a test first. Put the leads of an ohm meter across the primary to see if that is burned out. Any electrician should do that for you. If that is not the fault you would have to open it up. BUT YOU ARE PLAYING WITH YOUR LIFE IF YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Go buy a used one or a new one. They are not that expensive.

This doesnt normally happen and not all of them have it, but does it have a fuse? if so, it may have gon bad. Also another problem could be that your TV tuner may have fried. Doubt it, but its worth a test.

Hope i helped
