My ex-boyfriend and I broke up 6 months after I left for college but have remained friends (he broke up with me b/c he couldn't handle the long distance and I am also seven years younger.) Its been 2 1/2 years and he continues to call me every two weeks or so, send me texts saying he misses me etc. He use to want to get sexual with me when I came to visit but now, for the first time ever..he said he has to be good and the sex is "weird" because we do it and then don't talk for awhile. tells me he loves me, misses me, but has to be good. What does this mean? he says doesn't love anyone else and texts me all the time saying he misses me etc. . do you think he wants me for the future and doesnt want to ruin it? does this show respect? what do you think? he changed his behavior after he thought he hurt me by being too busy to see me a couple time when i came home to visit. does he see me for the future

This guy is CLEARLY playing with your feelings and u simply don't need the games. We women tend to want to examine a guys behavior...eventually you will realize it's pointless. They do EXACTLY what they WANT to do and nothing less. Sweetheart, don't waste your time.....it's his loss! In the future, you should learn to hold each person responsible for their actions-----you CANNOT change them or make them want you. MOVE ON...Tell him to stop texting you! Good Luck! Now this is a situation where the strings of the relationship was not properly cut. Its ok to still be friends, but y'all still hanging onto ur old relationship.
The only time i heard a man saying "He wants to be good" is when he was chasing after another women or interested in another women &didnt want to mess things up.
This could be the case but he is afraid it will hurt u.
this is all speculation, the best answer will come from him.

I don't think you have any future with this guy. He is just comfortable with you because you were together before. But I think his feelings about you are not the same anymore. He is probably has his options open and at the same time can't let go of the bond between you and him. It sounds like you guys are just friends with benefits.
