I am from the United States (Illinois). I learned about weather twice in my academic career. First in the sixth grade then in my freshmen year of college.

In the sixth grade we learned your basics, such as the three cloud types, stratus, cumulus, and cirrus. We also learned about precipitation and its different forms.

In college, it was much more in detail. We had a refreshers course on the basics, then went into forecasting, weather patters, air masses, etc.
