I Have 3 Italian greyhounds 1 female 8yrs 1 male 9yrs and a 7 month old male puppy which I had since he was 8 weeks old . The last 6 weeks or so he has been very aggresive toward my 9 year old male . So I did get him neutered 2 weeks ago. The other night he attacked him and cut his paw and he needed stiches . Then today he started again and I broke it up but he bit me on my hands and he will growl at me when I am breaking it up . My older dog is not aggressive he is very sweet . The puppy wont mess with the female just the male.
Any suggestion I would apprieciate .
Thanks Pinkdiamond

First of all you have to be the alpha of all of them. The pup needs some serious social manners. Does he submit to you when their not fighting? Do the others? Trick is to catch it right before it happens, like when he locks on eye contact or his ears go flat...etc. Never leave them alone until issue is resolved. After a scrap, make the pup submit by putting him in a lay or on his back and bring the other male up to him and lay him close. It is a psychological excersize for him to be close to the other male and he must remain calm. They both need to be put in that posistion daily for conditioning. If you can "scare" the pup away from attacking before it happens, maybe with a loud noise when he doesn't know your on to his tricks it may be enough to let him know that's a bad move.

I would consider giving the puppy up for adoption. My friend had a similar situation (although with pittbulls) and he came home one day and the older dog was dead. There appears to be a dominance issue, and he probably is leaving the female alone to take over the alpha male position in the environment. If you love your older male dog, separate them. Any outcome (further harm to the older dog or retaliation on the part of the older dog) will change you dogs in your eyes in the long run. Just like every human can not always live together well, the same is true for animals.

The puppy is trying to be the dominant dog at your house. He is even dominant over you - biting you is evident of that. You need to regain control over the puppy immediately. Not with force or hitting, etc., but stand tall, give firm commands - let him know you are the boss and he isn't. He is like a toddler throwing a fit. You just have to be calm and speak firmly with him. If you are still having troubles, have a professional come give you their opinion - or - watch Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel.

is the male puppy the one that is attacking the older male? You should get the male puppy neutered if you haven't already, he could be trying to establish pack order by being aggresive towards your older male.

You definitely need to disown one of the males for their own good.

Be sure he goes to a good home though. Preferably without any other pets at home;; wouldn't want to go through the same problems again!
