I understand it to be every 2 months..
not a bad idea to disinfect the boxspring when you flip it as well.. also buy a mattress pad, it preserves the mattress too..

some people say, 1 time per year, others 6 months.
depends on age of bed. Older, more often.
I suggest every 3 months, to keep it Fresh. Febreze
Spray will help too. Try to buy New about every 5 years.
We recycle by putting 5 year old down stairs for guests or
kids , from there it goes to friend or family in need .

Often when you buy a mattress they will give you the information, but from everything that I have read it is every three months.

monthly i think some people do it every time they change the sheets. remember flip 1 time then spin 1/2 turn the next time then flip that way you aren't just flipping it back and forth and laying in the same spot.

i think flipping once a week on a weekend is better for a mattress once you flip it turn it as well so it evens wear and tear .

we bought a no flip, but we turn it top to bottom every other month. good luck.
