I am still having pain and so much stiffness everyday, even doing PT 3 times a week. I just feel I should be futher along,I am 55 and active. Any feedback would be helpful. Sometimes I feel like I'm back to square one, especially with the flexion[bending] of my knee.

You might have some pain and swelling for six months. That's what we were told and that was correct after each knee. After all a knee replacement is major surgery. The difference is that the pain even on a bad day will be about one twentieth the pain felt from bone on bone grinding prior to the surgery. Also every now and then just expect to have a bad day where you will have some pain for no particular reason. This will diminish as time goes on. Keep doing your PT and keep some Tylenol handy. The best knee replacement recovery exercise is water walking and water exercise. My wife had both knees done and what really helped her in addition to the PT was a regular schedule of water exercising. Most health clubs or the YMCA will have programs just for people with joint injuries or rehab. My wife feels so much better that her only question is why she waited so long to get the surgeries.

Quite young at 55 to have total knee replacement-anyway, assuming the surgery was done properly, you will just have to be patient with your physiotherapy.
